EARTH HERITAGE Wessex Area Team 001 1002343 0.8202 0.00 08/02/2012 Favourable There was no tipping or landfill, no tree planting, no engineering works and no evidence of any collecting of specimens. No planning conditions apply to this site so this is not relevant here. The key attributes from the conservation objectives are the exposure of the features of interest and how obscured they are by vegetation. In fact the rock faces were clearly visible and it was possible to walk along their base behind patches of bramble and other scrub for their entire length. One patch of scrub had been cut back and the brash piled away from the face, suggesting works to open up access to the features (though we were unaware of anything planned). Some rock faces are partially obscured by Ivy. Though access is likely to be less easy during summer I believe that with minor clearance of vegetation taking <2 hours it would still be possible to see all the features. The site is therefore considered to be in favourable condition.
