Comment: Unit fail overall. Wet heath fail. Peat depth 10cm ?1m+ range, 31.5cm average. Borderline fail on % sphagna damage and disturbed ground. Significant fail on % Table 1 spp & % cover Ericoids. Also fails on % graminoids & evidence of burning. Dry heath overall fail. Passed on all criteria except failed on age classes of calluna, % cover of bracken, cover of indicator spp. proportion of calluna browsed (all ages). Borderline fail on presence of lichens/liverwort/mosses.
