Condition assessment comment: |
Given recent wet summers the unit was looking surprisingly OK. There was no bare ground in the tradition low point however docks are becoming increasingly frequent. Brown sedge (C. disticha) was also prevalent to the south and large Carexes (C. acuta) are becoming more frequent. Consequently the attributes for negative species (waterlogging and docks) are only just passed and herb-grass ration is at bottom end of target range. Good breeding curlew present with2-3 breeding pairs (5-6 individual calling birds). Also skylark, reed bunting and roe deer. |
