Comment: Phalaris continues to decline as a result of mining subsidence mitigation despite wet summers (2012 again very wet). Some evidence that large Carex (c.acuta) becoming more prevalent which is likley to be due to wet summers experience in recent years. Sward quite grassy overall and herbs perhaps not as prevalent as previous years. Meadow vetchling appeared particulary reduced. Brown sedge (c. disticha) prevalent in some areas Major patch of docks through central part of ings, corressponds with previous bad areas. 2007/08 were particularly bad. Breeding skylark and at least 1pr curlew Other species recorded Caltha (R)
