Comment: This is sheep-grazed pasture with naturally undulating topography giving rise to ephemeral wet areas with scattered clumps of rushes. The area is mainly of importance for its ditches. These have a variety of structural diversity and vegetation. Some of the more recently managed are very open and have a good diversity of submerged aquatic plants. Others have varying amounts of tall, emergent vegetation with characteristic plants such as common reed, lesser bulrush, marsh mallow, hemlock water dropwort, burr reed and reed sweet-grass. Other species present includes potamogeton sp, water mint and arrowhead. The ditch margins are mostly open to grazing stock which helps to maintain short, species-rich margins. No negative indicators were noted.
