Comment: Area of gravel extraction creating open water up to 2 ha when flooded with fringe of common reed in places and ephemeral areas more fen like with carex spp and juncus spp. Willow spp around the wettest areas the remainder sheep grazed with marsh mallow and other tall herbaceous vegetation. An interesting mixture of seasonally inundated aquatic, scrub and open habitats of high value for a range of wetland plants, birds and invertebrates. No management problems noted.
