This is cattle-grazed pasture primarily of importance for its ditch system. It has ditches with varying depths and vegetation at various stages of development. There are shallow, ephemeral ditches containing scattered rush, as well as deeper channels with common reed, sea club-rush and divided sedge. Open areas have a diversity of floating and submerged aquatic plants. One of the channels was in the process of being cleared of vegetation at the time of the visit. A large (200+) flock of lapwing and golden plover was noted.
No negative indicators were seen. |
