Comment: Species rich grassland within an old quarry with sheer rock faces and steeply sloping ground in places and species rich grassland on more level ground with scattered scrub. Frequent species include black knapweed, marjoram, salad burnet, bird?s-foot trefoil, rough hawkbit, and small scabious. Occasional species include agrimony, eyebright, dwarf thistle and lady?s bedstraw. More rarely fairy flax, orchid spp, harebell, rock rose and hoary plantain. Overall providing a range of habitats with good structure but relying on management by hand. Bat roost in old lime kiln still in scaffolding, still standing and still accessible.
