Comment: Majority of site is steeply sloping woodland with areas of remnant chalk grassland. The majority of the mature trees are Yew, Ash and Beech with occasional Field maple. Site is unmanaged and areas of secondary woodland and scrub are taking over previously open areas. Ground flora sparse beneath the Yew and scrub but in glades and more well lit areas chalk grassland species are reasonable diverse. Ladies bedstraw and salad Burnett are common as well as a scattering of other CG indicator species. Rabbit grazing is keeping the turf short. Overall a varied structure to the woodland-grassland mosaic as a whole, there is plenty of fallen and standing deadwood.
