Comment: Beech dominated with ash, yew, oak and hornbeam. Areas of regenerating woodland in parts damaged by 1997 storms add structural and species diversity. These are being managed to reduce ash dominance, also birch and sallow in these areas. Sycamore became abundant after the storms and spread but this is being managed and brought down to acceptable levels. There is also occasional sweet chestnut, larch and scots Pine but below 5% in total.
