Comment: Low summer rainfall has led to the pools drying out resulting in a higher than acceptable percentage of bare ground. Increase in soft rush and a concern over typha on ditch linking shemmy and south moss. Scattered scrub is over 10% across some areas of the site, but will be controlled over next few years through HLS including a programme of scrub removal. White-beak sedge recorded in several quadrats. Good mix of Spaghum spp. including fallax, palustre, capillifolium, subnitens, and cuspidatum. However S. fallax only species which is frequent across the site. Cranberry, Round-leaved Sundew, Cross-leaved Heath and Bog rosemary all recorded, but these species are not at required cover at this stage, but site is recovering due to ongoing conservation work.
