Reason for adverse condition: FRESHWATER POLLUTION - WATER POLLUTION - AGRICULTURE/RUN OFF,FRESHWATER POLLUTION - WATER POLLUTION - DISCHARGE,
Comment: Latest water quality data figures from the Environment Agency are showing a reduction in the amount of Phosphorous: 2010 average: 734 ?g1-1 to 2013 average: 201 ?g1-1. For this mere type should ideally be no more than 50ug/l. Latest water quality data figures from the Environment Agency are showing a very slight reduction in the amount of Nitrogen: 2010 average: 2.02 mg/l to 2013 average: 1.84 mg/l. All figures are above the threshold which is Total N less than 1.4 N mg/l. Investigations have been undertaken into potential sewage dsicharge from the castle and concluded no impact on water quality in the Mere.
