Comment: Majority of site is steeply sloping Yew woodland but also areas of chalk grassland even several young Juniper, but these may have been planted. The majority of the mature trees are Yew, Ash and Beech with White beam and Oak. Some Scots pine remain from what must have been an attempt at plantation but are not thriving or regenerating. Ground flora sparse beneath the Yew but includes Harts Tongue fern and Male fern and in glades and more well lit areas chalk grassland species. Overall a varied structure to the woodland grassland mosaic as a whole, there is plenty of fallen and standing deadwood.
