Comment: Diverse chalk grassland with high levels of pedestrian and horse access. Area not effectively fenced and management is low key allowing Tor grass and upright brome to become rank in places. Scrub levels generally high and although not currently exceeding threshold consideration should be given to practical and sustainable management to achieve a balance between valuable transitional scrub to grassland habitat and woodland encroaching into the grassland. Herbs present between 40% and 70%, with sward height between 10mm on paths, to 250mm elsewhere. Salad burnett and wild marjoram dominant, (9 of 10) Clustered bellflower, Rough hawkbit ,Ladies bedstraw and Black knapweed abundant. (7 of 10) Ragwort, Wild basil and Birdsfoot trefoil frequent. (5 of 10) Eyebright, Harebell, Small Scabious Rockrose and Dropwort rare (1-2 of 10).
