Comment: The unit is the old railway track which is well used for public access. The dry heathland banks on the cutting and embankment require further scrub control to reduce birch/willow and non-native trees such as holm oak budleija and cotoneaster. The heather is being invaded by pine and oak seedlings as well as bramble. There are some big banks of leggy gorse which require breaking up. There is evidence of urban effects from enrichment to disturbance. With more rigorous scrub control and introduction of grazing better extent and structure should be attained for the dry heathland.
