Gibraltar Point SPA
This information lists the fisheries management measures (regulatory and voluntary) that were in place in English Waters at the start of 2018, that either directly or indirectly help to protect the features of the site. Further information on these management measures and for fisheries management implemented since that date may be available from the MMO or individual Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority websites.

Licensable activities within MPAs are subject to the requirements of the Conservation of Species and Habitats Regulations 2017 (as amended), the Conservation of Offshore Marine Habitats and Species Regulations 2017 and / or the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. Licensable activities may subject to management measures or conditions as part of their licence. Only Inshore Fisheries Conservation Authority and Marine Management Organisation fisheries byelaws which directly manage MPA features are displayed.

BYELAW 12:- INSHORE TRAWLING RESTRICTION

Fishing vessels bigger than 15.24 meters in length are prohibited from fishing using towed nets. Protects features from disturbance from larger vessels.

BYELAW 15:- TOWED GEAR RESTRICTION FOR BIVALVE MOLLUSCS

Fishing vessels greater than 14 meters in length are prohibited form fishing for molluscs using any type of towed gear. Protects feature from disturbance from fishing activities.

BYELAW 3: MOLLUSCAN SHELLFISH METHODS OF FISHING

Byelaw requires Authorisation from Eastern IFCA to use any bottom towed gear to fish for Molluscan shellfish (except within The Wash Fishery Order)
