By bus: You can catch bus number 51 from the City Centre along Redmires Road.
By car: There is a car park in Lodge Lane, at the eastern end of the reserve. From Sheffield City Centre: Travel north on ring road (A6134). At Brook Hill roundabout take first exit onto Western Bank (A57). Carry on past Children’s Hospital into Broomhill. At Broomhill bear left continuing on the A57 Manchester Road. Turn right onto Sandygate Road opposite Crosspool Tavern. After pedestrian crossing bear left continuing on Sandygate Road. After Hallamshire golf course on right hand side, turn right onto Lodge Lane. After a sharp left turn there is a small car park.

What to see: Rare butterflies and moths including the smoky wave moth and the green hairstreak butterfly. Habitats include heathland, scrub, woodland and streams. Species of interest include ling heather, heath bedstraw, tormentil, common lizards, kestrel and sparrowhawk.
