Off A61 Harrogate - Ripon road at the junction with the Ripon ring road. Cycle from Ripon (Harrogate Road - south of Ripon) walk or bus.

What to see: Habitats include woodland and calcareous grassland (magnesian limestone). The site is of geological interest.

Species rich grassland with many flowers such as primroses, cowslips, oxeye daisy, knapweed, selfheal, common spotted orchid, bee orchid, yellow wort and autumn gentian. Animals include bees, damselflies, butterflies, fox, weasel, voles and kestrel.
