Public Transport: Maidenhead is on the railway line to London Paddington and about 3 miles away.
There are few buses passing close to the wood, the nearest being the M1 (pre-booking needed) bus service between Marlow and Maidenhead which stops at Cookham Dean about 1 mile away.

What to see: The woods have been planted with a mixture of conifer and broadleaf with the dominant species planted being beech. The woodland was extensively damaged during the storms of 1987 and 1990 leading to the loss of beech on the scarp and slopes which after clearance were planted with a mixture of cherry and beech.
