By car follow A20 for 3 miles northwest of Ashford towards Charing. Turn left into Hothfield village, then first right with reserve on the left.
Bus (510) from Maidstone or Ashford.

What to see: Contains Kent's last four remaining lowland valley bogs and one of its few remaining fragments of open heath with patches of acid grassland.
Carpets of purple heather in late summer. Common and dwarf gorse in flower most of the year. Bog asphodel, heath spotted orchid and round leaved sundew.
Kent's only colony of keeled skimmer dragonflies. Slow work, common lizard and grass snake. Badgers and voles. Nuthatch, green woodpecker, treecreeper and tree pipit.
